[GETTING THERE]

Question:

I just wanted to thank you for writing the book "You Can Have It All." I anticipate reading "The Journey." I picked up "You Can Have It All" at a used book store for a dollar and I found it a great read, although I felt certain concepts you kept over-reiterating, but it still was simple, direct and revolutionary. I let a lot of my friends read it and they enjoyed it too.

I am young and still trying to find a point of mastery in my works. I'm trying to get back to the way I used to think when I was seventeen, before all the doubt of college professors invaded my ways of thinking. I swear college professors can make you feel pretty uncertain about yourself if you let them, especially when you are paying for them to teach you. I had one or two teachers I really appreciated, but that was about it. I found a lot of them to be insecure about what they taught. I went to art school.

I really find Lauryn Hill's work extremely moving. I am still learning and appreciate the energy I received from your writing! Have you seen the movie "Waking Life?" I watched it recently and I was very fascinated with it too. I wonder what your take on it would be if you have seen it. If not I recommend it and Lauryn Hill's album, "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill." She also has a second album but she's not as confident in herself with it, but it's still good. I guess I feel like her second album when I used to feel like her first, and I'm trying to get back to being the first one again. Anyhow enough rambling... anyhow, take care!

Answer:

You are the creator of every experience in your life. This is a big truth to embrace.

You can open to the feel of that truth by getting back into the energy that you say you had before your college experience -- the feeling you equate with the first album of Lauryn Hill. When you are in that confident feeling, see if you can sense how you created the experience you had with your professors.

You are always in the fullness of your power. And, you use this power to make it seem as though your self-confidence has been taken away. Creating the professors supported you in accomplishing this.
