[THE PURPOSE OF BELIEFS]

Question:

I am 50 and at the end of a long stretch of intense creations, which I am now claiming as my own, and reworking my "out-of-balance dichotomies", the Huna term for maintaining conflicting beliefs --- both get powered and pretty much cancel each other out. We were taught at a Hawaii workshop how to return to the point of creation, withdraw the energy we invested in the beliefs, and with guidance from our subconscious, construct a balanced dichotomy. Some of that is too way out for the general populace (as it was for me until I collided with my creations) but the principles you write about are presented in such a way that a support group would be much more acceptable.

I am an artist and the whole thing about doing that as in income after my husband left was scary. I was accustomed to insurance and dental coverage, retirement funds and a predictable companion. All that is wiped out and I am constructing a new paradigm.

Answer:

Part I: We all create beliefs, conflicting or otherwise. The purpose of every belief is to hide power.

In the fullness of our power, our natural state, we cannot explore the human condition that is, by definition, an experience in powerlessness and limitation. After many years of brilliantly and ingeniously creating lives opposite to our natural state, we feel the urge from within to step beyond our limitations and to connect with the power we have hidden.

You refer to constructing a new paradigm. That is another contrivance that continues your separation from your power. An alternative is opening beliefs to reclaim the fullness of your power. THE JOURNEY describes my experience in committing to that opening process. I suggest that you check it out.

Part II: You refer to the challenge of creating money. Our experiences with money are all contrived. They are the result of beliefs, examples of which include: shortage and limitation, earning, deserving, compromising, competing, succeeding and failing, as well as beliefs in the need for insurance, pensions and other forms of security.

These beliefs are intended to hide the power in feeling and expressing appreciation -- the true purpose of money. As we open beliefs around money, we notice a corresponding expansion of the feeling of appreciation and the desire to express that appreciation.

Part III: What does it take to open the energy in our beliefs about money? The answer is commitment to the opening process. The commitment to hide power in our beliefs and to keep the power hidden is so strong that unless our commitment to open the beliefs is stronger, we don't even consider entering into the process.

You will know when you are ready; the motivation from within is undeniable. When you are ready, the support to guide you through the process appears.
