[NON ATTACHMENT]

Question:

In the matter of the Mideast turmoil, I cannot stop thinking about the law of attachment and how Jews, Arabs, and Christians are attached in religious and emotional ways to that particular area of the world. While I believe in Infinite Intelligence, God, I have no "attachment" to a piece of land fought over for so many years for various reasons. Can you comment?

Answer:

The Principle you are referring to is that of nonattachment. The belief in the need for attachment is one of the ways we humans have intentionally created the experience of life different from that of our natural state, which is one of infinite abundance of everything. In this natural state, each of us is the whole of the Universe. There is no sense of need.

We are now in the beginning of the process of opening up our beliefs in limitation of all kinds. The more we open these beliefs, the clearer it becomes that what we thought we need is already ours. Those who continue to see the need to hold onto land in the Middle East are reflecting for all of us our beliefs in limitation.

As long as any of us see the Middle East in terms of holding onto land, aggression, hatred and right and wrong, we are seeing a reflection of what we believe. This is not bad or wrong. In fact, what we see is a gift. The gift is the information that reminds us to open any beliefs in limitation or judgment we still hold. Since we are all connected, the opening of energy in a belief by any one of us opens the energy for all of us.
